Our story begins with our founder, John F. Homeier, when he began raising money in 1958 to drill oil wells around Sangamon County, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1960 and set his sights on starting his own oil company, Homeier Oil Enterprises. At that time, he was a well site geologist and drilled many successful oil wells. With this success, he had the insight to create a business designed to fulfill the needs of independent oil producers in the Illinois Basin.
In 1973, John founded Bi-Petro, Inc. with the anticipation of expanding into a diversified independent oil purchasing and production company. His intentions were to buy and sell independent producers’ crude oil while offering the great customer service that these companies desperately needed.
Over 50 years later, we are proud to state that John’s legacy continues with his two sons: Skip Homeier and Douglas Homeier; and his four grandchildren: Bradley Homeier, Collin Homeier, Tessa (Homeier) Hudson, and Zachary Homeier. Today, Bi-Petro's family has grown to 75 employees who are committed to our pledge of providing unequaled, prompt, professional service. Through dedication and commitment, we strive to honor our unique relationship with producers and to maintain our challenging standards of service excellence.
